What We’re About

“Storycraft for Storytellers”

Our mission is simple, we want to tell the best stories we possibly can and equip others to do the same.  We believe one of the best ways to speak to the human soul is through story and that good stories transform us into better people. We believe that everyone tells stories differently: some of us are writers, some are artists, some are filmmakers, gamers, musicians…but we are all storytellers and we all have something to share. We also know that we are all still learning to be the best artists, writers, etc. that we can be. That is why we want StoryForge to be a place where storytellers of every type can come be inspired and gain knowledge and experience that will help them become the best at their craft.

We believe in multimedia storytelling. Not only do stories become more informed for knowing about other mediums, for example a writer can only become better for knowing about music, but when all these mediums combine to form new types of storytelling some really great and innovative ideas can be born. We want to foster that here and build a community online for sharing and learning.

We believe that we are better together than we are alone. For this reason, we want to make the StoryForge community a place for  storytellers to speak to each other through forums and other ways that encourages discussion and growth.

We believe in innovation and trying new things. Some of the best successes come from the wackiest ideas. We want to encourage everybody in our community to take risks and try new things. If we fail, that’s great! It means we’ve tried something new, and learned a lot form it.

To make good on our belief in trying new things and equipping people to tell the best stories they can, this next year you can expect to see: articles on storytelling, review shows, an archive of mythology (best to learn from the oldest stories around), short comedies on storytelling, original short films, audio dramas, and even a forum if we have the readers to make it happen. Of course, these are just some of the ideas we have brewing…

Want to get involved? Since we are still just starting out, we need our community to help us out in a ton of different ways. The easiest way to be involved is to read/watch/listen to our content and share it with your friends and family. We really want to build our community and you are going to be the best way that we can do that. If you want to take things a bit further, why don’t you leave some comments on our pages? We all love discussions about stories and would love to engage with your thoughts, too.  Still not enough for you? If you have ideas for new projects or want to do something and have StoryForge feature you, send us a message through our contact form. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Hearing from people in our community is the best part of our day, so don’t hesitate to drop us a line!
