From the Writer

House on Writer’s Block started out as a joke in college over cafeteria pizza with finals looming in the not-to-distant future. We started casting our little group of friends as hapless fantasy tropes taken to their logical conclusion. Later, walking back to my dorm room, the idea for the comic was born.

Almost none of the original character concepts survived to House on Writer’s Block as it exists today. I vaguely recall a mage whose magic only worked if he found the result funny, and a ranger who was perpetually lost in the woods. Lyra, however, survived almost completely intact. This page is one of the first jokes I ever came up with for the comic. Enjoy, and thanks for reading!
